This organization shall have several purposes. It shall serve as a support group for school events and activities; it shall promote school loyalty and spirit, and serve as a performing group representing the high school throughout the community. The organization shall represent the school and community in an exemplary manner, serving as a role model for appropriate behavior and citizenship. It shall also serve as a foundation for the growth of each member, physically and mentally. Members will learn team-building and human-relation skills, time management, self discipline and an understanding of self-respect, as well as dance technique and performance skills.
The Copperettes are a dance/drill team composed of freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are dedicated to boosting school spirit through their performances. The team performs various styles of dance to include high kick, pom, jazz, hip hop, novelty, prop, modern, and contemporary.
You can see the Copperettes perform at all football halftimes, basketball games, pep rallies, Spring Show, and community events and parades. Every Spring the Copperettes compete against other high school dance teams at both regional and state competitions around the state of Texas.
