COPPERAS COVE - Borderless Friends Forever is thrilled to announce that Copperas Cove High School international education scholarship student, Saida Gjana from Albania, has been chosen as a finalist to attend the Civic Education Workshop (CEW) this spring. This is an event sponsored by the US Department of State that allows students to join other scholars from around the country for a weeklong intensive workshop in Washington, DC. Students will look deeper into US governing systems and further their credentials as cultural ambassadors. Being invited to this national workshop is a highly competitive process with a small percentage of applicants accepted.
The selection of this student as a finalist is a testament to the young scholars’ hard work and dedication to their cultural exchange experience. This significant accomplishment demonstrates the importance of host families and school communities supporting and investing in education and cultural exchange programs. Exchange programs allow local and international students to learn about other countries and represent their own cultures. These experiences foster understanding, community, and respect for diversity.
"I am deeply grateful for this incredible opportunity to participate in the Civic Education Workshop. It allows me to learn more about the United States by exploring its roots, understanding how it was built, and gaining insight into its government and values," Ms. Gjana says.
The Borderless Friends Forever organization, in partnership with host families and school communities, is committed to providing education and cultural exchange programs for students worldwide.
