COPPERAS COVE – The Copperas Cove High School band placed 25 students in the Texas Music Educators Association All-Region 8 ensembles.
Those 25 students have each qualified for the All-Region bands, with two also earning spots in the All-Region Orchestra.
Felix Arevalo and Eunsong Lozano have earned spots in the All-Region 8 Orchestra on bassoon and French horn, respectively, despite there being no orchestral program at CCHS.
Arevalo and Lozano were also selected to the All-Region 8 Wind Symphony, alongside Madelynn Gorres on Bb clarinet, Ava Adams on alto saxophone, Aiden Nuno on trumpet and Brenda Thomas on percussion.
Qualifying for the All-Region Symphonic Band were Ashelyn Riley and Jana Moris on Bb clarinet, Conley Hammontree on bassoon, Alyssa Lewis on alto saxophone, Lily Clarkson on trumpet, John Haffter Von Heide on euphonium and Mason Lindemann on percussion.
Seven more student-musicians were selected to the All-Region 8 Concert Band, with August Porter on flute, Lillie Noordam and Heston Cardoza on Bb clarinet, Micah Smith on tenor saxophone, Logan Barth on trumpet, Marisol Rosas and Gabriel Castillo on french horn and Khai Nguyen on percussion.
“We couldn’t be more proud of these 25 students who have proven to be among the best in the region,” CCISD superintendent Dr. Joe Burns said. “For generations, the Pride of Cove band has been the Band of Bands in central Texas and this just continues to cement that legacy moving forward. I look forward to seeing our students continue toward qualifying for the All-State bands.”
Of the 25 All-Region students selected, 16 have advanced to the All-Area contest, the next step along the All-State track:

Additionally, four students earned spots in the All-Region Freshman Band, with Xavier Eclavea on flute, Santiago Bautista on Bb clarinet, Dylan Peacock on tenor saxophone and Benny Wilbacher on tuba.
The All-Area competition is scheduled for Jan. 11, 2025.
The All-Region 8 Orchestra Clinic & Concert was Dec. 14, 2024, at Baylor University in Waco.
The All-Region 8 Band Concert is scheduled for Jan. 18, 2025, at Lake Belton High School in Temple.
