COPPERAS COVE – When the 2025-26 school year begins, families in Copperas Cove ISD will have one less thing to worry about.

Thursday, the district announced all students in CCISD will receive breakfast and lunch at no charge through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Community Eligibility Provision. The Texas Department of Agriculture has confirmed CCISD’s eligibility for the coming school year.

“Our goal is to ensure the well-being of each of our students, both academically and otherwise,” said Superintendent Dr. Brent Hawkins. “By bringing this program to Copperas Cove, every Bulldawg will be able to guarantee their access to a nutritious, delicious meal. Not only does this fulfill a great need within our community, but it gives the students in Cove what they need to be able to focus on their classwork.

This initiative also eliminates the need for families to submit applications for free, reduced-price or paid student meals at the start of the school year, simultaneously reducing the burden on the district in gathering and processing those applications.

Anybody with questions regarding this program should reach out to the CCISD Child Nutrition department at 254-547-1227.
