Students in Ms. Jalbert, Ms. Hornaday, Ms. Butler, Ms. Torres, and Ms. Sanchez’s English III classes recently put their test-taking skills to the test during a fun and fast-paced SAT Scavenger Hunt!

Working in small groups, students honed their SAT English skills by moving around the room to locate questions, analyze passages, and collaborate to determine the best answers. This interactive activity helped students practice critical reading, grammar, and evidence-based reasoning while building teamwork and confidence for future SAT success.

Hands-on activities like this make preparing for the SAT engaging and help students sharpen the skills they’ll need beyond the classroom. Great work, English III!

Our Copperas Cove High School Bulldawgs are piece-ing together some tough concepts!

In Mrs. Hollister’s Algebra 2 classes, students took a hands-on approach to mastering math. Instead of traditional drills, they tackled Tarsia puzzles to reinforce the connection between exponential expressions and radical expressions. Understanding how these expressions relate is a foundational skill that our students will carry with them into Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and beyond.

Great job, Bulldawgs! Keep pushing those critical thinking skills.

Big Art Day in English I!

English I students in Ms. Bostian, Ms. Boyce, Ms. Chauvin, and Ms. McKeon’s classes brought literature to life by transforming thematic elements from Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” into creative, visual Escher squares.

This activity allowed students to analyze mood, symbolism, and theme while expressing their understanding through art—combining critical thinking with creativity! We love seeing our students explore literature in unique and meaningful ways.

Nails bitten to the quick. Coaches and parents having grayer hair. AYPYN's very own Varsity Dawgs became Region IV Champions March 1 by 4 pins! Let's GO!

They will be heading to State, unfortunately without the Lady Dawgs, who played their hearts out but just missed the cut off. As individuals, Roland Rivera and Kailey Linker took 2nd place and will be going to State.

After Regional awards were given, Shayla Ludwig was awarded her District Champion Trophy!

Dallas Baptist University was also in house to sign our very own Roland Rivera to their family!

Our AP U.S. History students in Ms. Cherizard’s class were transported back to the early 1900s!

To dive deep into the complex reasons behind America’s entry into World War I, students participated in an interactive Gallery Walk. By analyzing primary source documents—from the high-stakes telegrams to vintage propaganda posters—our Bulldawgs are uncovering the "why" behind the Great War.

We love seeing our students develop the critical thinking skills of true historians. Great job, Historians!

✨ Student Excellence Talent Showcase 2026 Recap ✨

What an incredible evening of talent, culture, and leadership!

The CCHS Black Student Union proudly hosted our Student Excellence Talent Showcase 2026, and our students truly SHINED. From powerful performances and stepping to poetry, music, and cultural celebration, the night was a beautiful reflection of excellence in action.

Throughout the evening, we honored Black History Month by spotlighting influential leaders, engaging in trivia, and celebrating the rich history and cultural contributions that continue to shape our world. Most importantly, we celebrated our students — their courage to take the stage, their creativity, and their commitment to being their very best.

Every stomp, every note, every spoken word reminded us that excellence lives right here on our campus.

Thank you to our performers, C Zeta Phi, our student leaders, staff, families, and community members who supported this special event. Your encouragement makes a lasting impact.

Yesterday, 6 of our amazing young ladies, along with Ms. Trahan (Crossroads), Ms. Green (district office) and Brendaliz Gomez (CCHS) attended The Girls Empowerment Conference at Region 12.

We couldn’t be prouder of how they represented our schools!

We were greeted with so much love and enthusiasm from the moment we arrived. The girls listened to powerful speakers, engaged in uplifting activities, connected with other young ladies, and courageously volunteered to present their project to all of the attendees.

And as if the day couldn’t get any better—they were the first table to win raffle prizes and walked away with two BINGO wins!

Girls Empowerment Luncheon Recap

This Saturday, Jonnee Riley and Brendaliz Gomez had the pleasure of hosting our Girls Empowerment Luncheon in partnership with Communities In Schools (CIS)!

A few amazing young ladies joined us for a powerful day filled with team-building activities, character development, and meaningful empowerment conversations. From laughter and connection to confidence-building moments, the room was full of positivity and purpose.

Together, we created a supportive space where our girls could grow, connect, and be reminded of just how capable and incredible they are.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event special and to our participants for showing up ready to shine!
