For over 100 years, National Honor Society (NHS) has been a leader among organizations and societies that encourage recognition for students exemplifying outstanding achievement in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership, and service.
Juniors and Seniors who have attended CCHS for at least one semester and who have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 will be invited to apply for membership and active participation in NHS. The application process typically occurs during the Fall Semester and includes character references from faculty members, documentation of community service, and evidence of a leadership role in school or community organizations. A Faculty Council reviews the applications and recommends students for membership.
NHS members who transfer from another school can join the CCHS chapter.
Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.
Further information concerning NHS membership is available at the NHS Website or through an NHS chapter adviser at CCHS.
