Join us in congratulating our AYPYN Bowling Club for an incredible showing at the 14th Annual TRACK Kat Cup Bowling Invitational this past weekend! Competing for only the 2nd year, our Dawgs and Lady Dawgs proved they are a force to be reckoned with.
The Lady Dawgs were absolute fire, seeding #1 after the qualifying rounds! They fought their way through bracket play and finished an impressive 4th place overall out of 10 teams.
The Dawgs played with heart in a massive field of 18 teams, finishing 10th place and missing the bracket cut by a heartbreakingly close 3 pins!
Individual Standouts:
Roland Rivera & Kailey Linker: Finished in the Top 10!
Shayla Ludwig: Placed 3rd Overall, earning a well-deserved spot on the All-Tournament Team!
We are so proud of the sportsmanship and skill displayed by all our student-athletes. It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved!
Meet the Teams:
Boys: Kadrian Gee, Roland Rivera, Caleb Sanders, Jaden Sanders, Jeremiah Franklin, Zaide Pfiefer, Braxton Neild, and Riley Prazinko.

CCISD buses will run at their normal time, and breakfast will be served at its normal time at every campus. Parents are encouraged to ensure their student is dressed warmly for the day.
Once students and staff return tomorrow, the district will begin a review of whether any changes to the academic calendar are required alongside district staff and the Board of Trustees. If so, those will communicated with families as soon as possible.

Due to continued hazardous conditions on roadways, an an abundance of precipitation on the roadways projected to refreeze across Copperas Cove, Copperas Cove ISD schools and offices will remain closed out of an abundance of caution on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Activities scheduled for Wednesday will be rescheduled for a later date.
CCISD leadership has continued to evaluate road conditions across our community, as well as the forecast which includes more freezing temperatures, and while major roadways have improved, too many neighborhood, rural and hill-side streets remain covered in ice. Many school parking lots and entryways remain covered in ice, as well. We've included several photos in this post taken earlier this afternoon.
Given the state of the roads and school parking lots, it is not safe to ask our bus drivers to report in the early morning hours to run routes in these conditions, nor to ask the several-hundred student and parent drivers to commute to school in the morning.
Copperas Cove ISD expects to be able to reopen on Thursday, January 28, 2026, but will continue to evaluate and communicate with the appropriate agencies to ensure it is safe to do so. Once CCISD is able to safely return to school, we will work alongside district staff and the Board of Trustees to evaluate if a change needs to be made to the academic calendar. If so, those will be communicated with families as soon as possible.
“I know this extended closure may create challenges for families,” said Superintendent Dr. Brent Hawkins. “Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding as we put the safety of everybody in our school community first. We look forward to a safe return to school as soon as possible.”

All school activities will be rescheduled for a later date.
